Logan J. Plantz
Founder & Managing Partner
Meet Logan Plantz
Logan Plantz is the founder and managing partner of Zachary Partners, where he brings a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach to acquiring and scaling enduring businesses. A builder at heart, Logan is known for rolling up his sleeves and leading with a combination of blue-collar work ethic, strategic thinking, and deep respect for the legacies built by business owners before him.
Logan’s story starts in the south suburbs of Chicago, shaped by grit and persistence. He grew up dreaming of playing football for the University of Notre Dame, but after multiple rejections and a dream to chase, he enrolled at Holy Cross College and refused to quit. His relentless pursuit eventually led to acceptance into Notre Dame, a spot as a walk-on player, and ultimately an athletic scholarship. That journey—marked by years of hard work, resilience, and humility—became a foundational blueprint for how he approaches business and leadership.
At Notre Dame, Logan earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Management. He completed his undergraduate studies early and took on the challenge of graduate school while competing as a Division I student-athlete. Balancing academic rigor with high-level competition instilled in him the ability to make high-stakes decisions, manage competing priorities, and lead with discipline and clarity—skills that continue to define his approach to operating and growing businesses.
Logan began his career at YETI Coolers, where he worked directly with senior leadership to refine go-to-market strategies, optimize national sales operations, and support commercialization efforts across global retailers. His experience at YETI provided him with a front-row seat to brand building, business development, and the process of scaling a high-growth consumer business while staying true to its core identity.
In 2019, Logan joined AA Medical, a global platform in the medical device space, to lead multiple revenue-generating divisions including sales, acquisitions, marketing, and business development. Under Logan’s leadership, the company evolved from a small-Family business into the largest medical device redistribution platform in the world, serving over 14,000 customers in 178 countries. Logan was instrumental in building the company’s sales engine, refining pricing strategies, and expanding market share through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions. He oversaw marketing initiatives that repositioned the brand globally, while also leading internal operational improvements—optimizing inventory workflows, CRM usage, and fulfillment processes. He built high-performing teams, developed rising leaders, and cultivated a culture of accountability and innovation. His work was recognized as AA Medical earned placements on the Inc. 5000 and Crain’s Fast 50 lists.
Throughout this period, Logan worked closely with Shore Capital Partners, AA Medical’s private equity sponsor, gaining deep exposure to value creation strategies, private equity governance, board-level reporting, and long-term business planning. He learned how to balance execution with vision—leading day-to-day operations while also architecting strategic roadmaps to scale the business responsibly and sustainably.
Logan’s experience spans every facet of business leadership: revenue growth, operational improvement, team development, data-driven decision-making, M&A execution, marketing, and customer experience. He is not a Corporate suit—he is a fully capable operator with the confidence, integrity, and track record to step into a business on day one and continue building on its legacy. Above all, he’s a trusted partner who values People as much as results—and believes the strongest businesses are built on trust, not just transactions.
At Zachary Partners, Logan brings this same mindset to every opportunity. He partners with business owners who want to see their companies continue to thrive—offering not just capital, but continuity, culture, and committed leadership. For owners considering their next chapter, Logan is the kind of successor who can carry their business forward with care, capability, and the conviction to make it even better than before.
